The weather was breaking, the blue water was in, so I just had to go see some of it. I messaged Omar and the Dive Channel on DeepWater Mafia. Responding was JJ Cross and her daughter Juliana (11). Omar came and brought his friends Patricia, Matt, & Julia. We started at the Triple Rig trying to catch bait, but they were not there. There was a big interest in going to Blue Water so we just headed toward MP281 based on charts from HitltonsOffshore.com. We found the blue water but gamefish were very lacking. I made the best of it by switching to GoPro the Tropical Inhabitants. On my second dive on MP283, I just used my 30 cu ft tank and a GoPro, no Speargun. On the way in, Patricia saw a Shark Fin cutting the water surface. We went to investigate and found a 15 foot Mako cruising around. Matt took the helm and we danced around her for a bit until she had enough and left. We tried a little red snapper fishing on the way in. We could not keep them, but these folks have never caught one. But only the juveniles seemed to bite. I also took a stab at the "Green Flash" photo and got some green but not a lot of Flash. All in all, it was a long but fun trip. Trip encompassed 189 miles, 116 gallons of fuel, and 12.5 hours.
