This was a Fishing Trip with John Purifoy & Family. Red Snapper had just closed up and Amberjack were not opening until August 1st. Those are the most predominant fish we have here so it was gonna make it tuff to find fish to bring home. The Red Snapper Derby Fishing pressure was evident by the small size of what we were catching. We kept hoping to hook a Grouper or Cobia but it never happened. We had to settle for Barracuda. Of course I had to sneak in a dive and get us a Mangrove and some Lionfish. But it was still a fun day out in the North Gulf of Mexico. The trip encompassed 126 miles, 88 gallons of fuel, and 12 hours.
