VK385 Super Pyramids and more on June 24, 2021© Photos Posted by Mark Primo Miller © Hi-Res Source
The winds finally slowed up a bit and we had a Thursday Window to try out. It was still a little sloppy in the morning but turned out very nice at the end of the day. Onboard was Omar Vasquez, Garret Bible, Welsey Fayard, and Stephanie Lorraine. We started at VK340 which was pretty much dead. We moved on to VK385 and had a nice dive picking up some Snapper and Lionfish. We decided to try some deepwater super pyramids and was so glad we did. Picked up a 49.1 pound Gag Grouper on the first one. Then lost a big Warsaw and Snapper on the second one. But Omar and Garret went down on the same one and got more snapper and a stud Mangrove. Then Wesley hit one closer in and did the same. It was a great day on the water that encompassed 176 miles, 120 gallons of fuel, and 15 hours.
