This was a trip with members from the Louisiana Hell Diver's Club onboard Jim Hilburn's "Cat'n Onit", a 29' WorldCat. Hell Divers Paul Cozic and Mike Aucoin came over from Louisiana. Hell Diver & DeepWater Mafia Diver Heath Powell setup the trip but had to back out at the last minute due to his Dog's health issues. We started at the MP243 Cutoff Rigs where I shot an 35 pound Amberjack and and a 32 pound African Pompano. Paul got a really nice 87 pound Amberjack and Mike got an AP as well. We then moved over to the MP265 Cutoff and then Platforms MP264 and MP281. We picked up more AJs, a beautiful 16 pound Scamp Grouper, and several Barracuda for the Louisiana Council Tournament. The winds picked up while out there which made for a brutal ride back, but it was a great day due to the Sun being out, water temps in the mid-70's, and pretty clear in the dive zone.
