Finally a weather window so we headed out. There were reports of Wahoo being caught so Gabe Lackey, Dylan Johnson, and myself headed toward the MP280 block to try and catch some and maybe even spear some. However, water conditions had changed and apparently the Zebra Fish moved out of the area. Gabe and I dove on the MP265 Cutoff which was recently created. The MP265 Platform has long been an Icon Oil Rig in the Northern Gulf of Mexico in about 200 feet of water. This was our first dive on it as a Cutoff. The water was pretty green with maybe 20 feet of visibility down to 140 feet and gradually opened up to 100 feet at 170 feet, but by then it was pretty dark. There wasn't many species of fish with open seasons and I only had shots on Amberjack and Red Snapper which were not allowed. We then went on to MP281 where Gabe and Dylan made a dive. They struggled there as well to find something we were allowed to take. Surprisingly we did not bring back any fish, but we had a great time out on the water that encompassed 182 miles, 97 gallons of fuel, and 11.5 hours.
