For Thanksgiving, Pam and I went to see our first grandson born on July 9 who resides in St. Augustine. We had a great visit and my son Ben even lined up a Fishing/Diving Trip for me. Go checkout that video as well. It has become a habit for me to checkout a new Florida Spring on the way back from my travels across the Sunshine State. Today I visited Ichetucknee Springs State Park located Northwest of Gainesville. This Park has 2 entrances. The South Entrance caters to Kayakers and Tubers while the North Entrance gives access to 2 Springs, the Head Spring and Blue Spring which the locals call "Jug Hole". Not much of a Cave at Head Spring but the Jug Hole was awesome. If you are a Freediver, you would really like this one. If you are a Cave Diver and into Fossils, this may be a good one. Checkout Jonathan Bird's Blue World visit here from S6 E17. He found a piece of an 11,000 year old Alligator and a petrified sand dollar! He gives a good explanation of the cave here: https://youtu.be/x2ktmLfEhJE?t=143. The 15 minute trail walk was well worth it with lots of cool trees and wildlife along the way. You can do like I did and use a small pony bottle (mine was 19 cu ft) if you don't want to penetrate the Cave, or register as a cave diver and use their wagon that is locked up at the Trail Entrance. It was an awesome visit that helped breakup our 7 hour trip back to Mississippi. Also, we took the back roads from St. Augustine and that was so much cooler than the Interstate.
