This was my first visit to the Infamous Blue Heron Bridge. I was visiting my new Grandson with family at Vero Beach and was looking for a beach dive. I did one to a wreck at the resort where we stayed and it was okay but the vis was poor and I wanted more. I lined up a Shark Dive in Jupiter but it got cancelled due to Hurricane Sally forming and making conditions prohibitive. I then went down further checking out Fort Pierce Jetties but conditions were bad there too. I finally just drove on down to the infamous Blue Heron Bridge which I have heard great things about for years. I was concerned it was gonna be a big tourist infiltrated setting, but I was pleasantly surprised with great visibility, calm waters, and lots of fish and wildlife to look at. Several artificial reefs had been placed as a snorkeling reef including old boats and even molded Hammerhead Sharks. The depth only ranged from 12 feet to 20 feet and yielded a 68 minute dive time with still 1200 pounds of air to spare from my Al-80. I worked hard to condense that into this 10 minute plus video so that you hopefully would not get board. Hopefully it will help someone else wanting to visit this site.
