Great Trip out with some of the DeepWater Mafia Crew to MP289 MP265 & MP242. Picked up 4 APs (African Pompano), 4 Cobia, 2 Almaco Jacks, an Ocean Trigger, and a Lionfish. Could have gotten a lot more but we had plenty of meat! This was Squid's first trip out with the DeepWater Mafia. Hitman got his first AP and his largest Gag Grouper on Rod-n-Reel. The weather was questionable at the start but we all needed our fix so we headed out and were pleasantly surprised that it was not that bad although the skys were overcast. However, that changed as we got within 10 miles of MP289 (80 miles out) with the seas picking up. However we had committed and could see our target on the horizon so we pushed on. As we headed in, the seas fell somewhat at first but again picked up as we got closer to home and the rain came in and stayed with us for most of the ride home. It was actually kinda cold and nobody brought foul weather gear. But it was all worth it. The trip encompassed 182 miles, 129 gallons of fuel, and 13 hours. Click Here for the FaceBook Album
