San Diego Visit from July 4 thru July 7, 2019© Photos Posted by Mark Primo Miller © Hi-Res Source
This was a trip to Pacific Beach next to San Diego for a long Fourth of July weekend (Thursday thru Sunday). We stayed at a nice 3 Bedroom, 3 Bath, Airbnb. Having to travel the first and last day, we essentially had only 2 days to play. It was a semi Family reunion meeting up with all 3 of my sons, Ben, Paul, and Luke. Ben brought Larua and Paul brought Hanna. Also Paula & Lucy came from New Orleans, Penny and Brian Jr (he brought Tabby) came from Ventura, Aidan brought Maddy (they reside in San Diego). On Thursday, July 4, we caught up with Luke, Paula, and Lucy and went for a walk thru town ending up at a wine tasting place for a nice Napa Valley experience. Thursday night we walked to the beach to watch some Fireworks from a distance. Friday we all took a walk thru town and down to the beach at Calumet Park. Some of us even went to Torrey Holistics for my first time Cannabis Store Experience. It was quite interesting indeed. Saturday Morning I went solo, while everyone was sleeping, and visited the Shell Beach Tide Pools at low tide just 3 miles from where we were staying. I didn't see a lot of tide pool critters other than a dead lobster, but did see a nice pod of Sea Lions basking on the rocks. Also took some pics of Sea Gulls, one with a nest of 3 chicks, and some fishermen and divers. Stupid me left my snorkel gear at the house thinking I was just going to see tide pools. I went back later that afternoon to try it but it was so crowded, I could not even park the car. After my tide pool visit, I caught up with the boys who were surfing at Ocean Beach and got some more photos. After that, I went alone and visited my Sister in Lake Forest about 1.5 hours away, getting to see where she recently moved to and where she works. Then she came down to visit everyone else that same evening at our AirBnB rental for a Ribeye Dinner and some fun and games. The next morning it was an early start at 4am to catch a plane back to New Orleans where Pam and I enjoyed a memorable meal at the Brick Oven Cafe and then grabbed a road Daiquiri from next door at Fat Tuesday. It was a weekend that went by quickly, but it was a lot of fun with Family.
