Dr. Donald E. Doyle, M.D., F.A.C.S.

In addition to becoming a physician, surgeon and inventor, Dr. Doyle had an eight year career as a model and TV commercial actor in New York City, Omaha, NB, and L.A. CA..

His modeling career began just before his senior year at St. Peter's College in New Jersey, and continued while he studied at Columbia Graduate School of Business, In New York, N.Y., on an International Fellowship, and Creighton University School of Medicine, in Omaha, NB. He transferred to New York Medical College in New York City and resumed his NY modeling. While an Intern and Surgical Resident at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, in Los Angeles, Ca, Dr. Doyle joined a modeling agency and continued to work in that field.

His modeling career ended abruptly when he was drafted into the U.S. Army, in Sep., 1968. He ended his Army career as a Captain and Flight Surgeon, after serving as a commander of an Aviation Medicine Detachment in Viet Nam. For his service in Viet Nam he was awarded 5 medals, including the Army Air Medal.

In 1979, Dr. Doyle returned in front of a camera when he began a Public Access Cable TV program. The program became "Mostly Medicine ", and involved interviewing physicians and surgeons, and presenting shows on surgery and anatomy. Interviews with celebritues and actors were mixed in, as well as a review of the movie, "Apocalypse Now" and a half hour conversation with Dr. Timothy Leary.

The program was seen in Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, and Hollywood, CA, and occasionally in New York City and Chicago. A satellite version was broadcast to the 48 contiguous states for 18 weeks in 1980. The program aired for 4 years and ended in February 1983.

During it's existence Dr. Doyle interviewed the incoming Presidents of The L.A. Medical Society 3 times and was awarded the American Cancer Society TV Media award for a program he produced and hosted on Breast Cancer. During the 4 years, Dr. Doyle produced over 200 programs. One of those programs, an interview with the editor of the local publication, "The Animal Tribune", led to Dr. Doyle becoming an animal rights activist, and medical advisor and spokesman for The Fund For Animals, PETA, The Animal Protection Institute, and The Cat Protection Society, and appearances on " 60 Minutes", CNN and NBC's "Headlines on Trial," and several radio guest appearances along with Bob Barker, of "The Price is Right", and several L.A. local TV programs.     Find Him on Facebook    See His FaceBook Album
