This was a Spearfishing Trip on the High Life, a 33' Blackfin with twin 3208 Cats out of Mary Walker Marina in Gautier, Mississippi. Onboard in addition to me, was Chuck Turner, Joe Havard, Josh Byrd, Corey Harris, Kevin Lowe, and Noah. We headed SouthEast toward MP175 & MP186 but diverted to the East and started at MP154. After that we went to VK340 where Joe and Josh made a dive amongst the many fishing boats there. Then we went to the VK385 Cutoff which sits in about 135 feet of water but comes up to 70 feet. The water at all 3 of these sites was green on top but opened up nicely just 20 feet down. We headed north hitting VK251 and crossed a tide rip just prior to reaching it where the surface water turned clean. However, on the dive, the water became green and dirty as we descended. We ended up with a nice mess of Amberjack and Red Snapper as well as a couple Ocean Triggers and a Lookdown. It was fun times on the High Life.
