This was our effort to compete in the Emerald Coast Open Lionfish Tournament taking place in Destin Florida from May 17-19. We fished out of Pensacola and our plan was to hunt for the smallest lionfish. We pulled Plankton Nets and hunted all the smallest crevices we could find. We thought we had one plankton lionfish as pictured in the video, but it was identified as a shrimp by the tournament. However, we did get the 4th place fish at 88mm which was good enough for $1,000. We cut our efforts short as the weather turned windy after the first day. I ended up diving at Fort Pickens the 2nd day. The Deepwater Mafia Team 4 consisted of Glenn, Dyllan, Zack, and Mark. We dove some natural bottom, an army tank, and the shipwrecks Randy Hopper, and Captain Shirley Brown. The Randy Hopper was Delpoyed on December 19, 2014. The Capt Shirley Brown Reef was deployed on June 3, 2015. It was a fun day on the water.
