This was a trip with Team Parkerized out of Pensacola. It was a pre-tourney scout trip for the Emearald Coast Open. Lionfish killed during the pre-tourney are turned in for Raffle Tickets for prizes awarded during the May 16-19 Event in Destin Flordia. Onboard was Charlie Meyling, Kevin Trusler, Paul Redman, Joe Havard, and myself. The instruction by the leaders was to drop on spots and if we saw 25 or fewer lionfish, to go ahead and take them out. If we saw more, we were to leave them so we could come back during the tournament. There is a significant prize purse this year with 6 places for most, largest, and smallest. Top cash prize is $10,000. So we hit several spots and took out 155 Lionfish, 39 for me, 52 for Joe Havard, 23 for Charlie, and 41 for Kevin. We only left one spot for the Tournament which would have helped my pre-tourney numbers a bunch. We also boated several Triggerfish, Mangrove Snapper, Bigeye Snapper, and even some Lobster. We also watched several beautiful Red Snapper swim away as our Tyranical Government does not allow us to take this over populated fish. Anyway, it was a great day on the water with visibility in the 80-100 foot range.
