This was primarily a fishing trip with Greg Gillespie, his Fiance Ariel Morrow, his Son Guy, Daughter Caroline, Ariel's son Cyrus, and her nephew Jacob. Greg, Guy, and myself also wanted to Scuba Dive but the water has been very murky lately with all the Fresh Water coming down the Mississippi River. So we decided to go to the Continental Shelf near the Salt Dome and dive Platform MP289C fishing along the way. Of course our predominant fish is Red Snapper and with the regulations, they have left little room for any other species. So we caught lots of them on the way. After getting to MP289C we caught a Jack Cravelle and after getting in the water, we could tell why. The Rig was flooded with them, so much so that we did not see any Amberjack, Almaco Jacks, Scamp Grouper, or even Barracudas. I guess they had them all pushed off. Anyway, the sun was out and the seas were relatively calm so we had a great day on the water that encompassed 177 miles, 104 gallons of fuel, and 13 hours.
