This was a trip with Mark Floore, his son Caymon, Daughter London, along with Alan & Jonathon. Red Snapper season had recently opened on May 25 and that was our primary target as we headed to the East toward VK-340, VK-385, and Beyond. The pressure had been enormous with so many boats out there derby fishing these red snapper, but we managed to find a few along with some African Pompano, King Mackerel, a Lane Snapper, Lionfish, and Sharks. We also got to see Sea Turtles & Dolphins. We started at the Master Mike Shrimp Boat (a favorite) and I got in the water with some Sharks and they gave us some chum. Total Trip encompassed 157 miles, 91 gallons of fuel, and 13 hours.
