This was a fishing charter with my Brazilian Friends, Gym, Allan, Edison, and Sylvester. While the forecast was for calm weather, it was actually a little bumpy although not prohibitively so. Based on Hilton's Navigator, we went to the west toward the City Rigs where we heard reports of Tuna around the Shrimp Boats. Unfortunately there were no Shrimp Boats on this day and we did not find bluewater fish. The Red Snapper bite was hot and while we tried to avoid them, we could not get our baits to our targets. Our final stop was on Platform MP144B where the crystal cobalt water was too inviting. Although I had been recovering from a dog bite, I put on a plastic boot I got at Walgreens and made a quick drop to get a Scamp Grouper. The crew, although agrevated, had a great time reeling in lots of fish and losing many as well. The trip encompassed 168 miles, 95 gallons of fuel, and 14 hours.
