This was a reef monitoring trip for MGFB to FAD1 and the Barataria Bay Pogie Boat in FH-13. Afterward we ran over to FH-6 for some Louisiana Red Snapper. On the way in we checked out the JH Steel Hull which is showing in the side image below. Observations showed FAD1 to be still surviving and doing well. It is definitely enhancing the reef as going over other Pyramids in the area did not chart near as many fish. The carpet FAD which was deployed around November 2015 had lost all the burlap carpet but the remaining float pipe gives me an idea to make some ladder FADs with similar pipes. We may try that this Summer. What doesn't show in the video is the nice population of fish upon descent. The GoPro was inadvertantly off upon descent and it was noticed after being on the bottom so it was turned on and filming was conducted going up. The first few photos are showing the fish that moved off while inpsecting the structure.
