This was a trip out to inspect the Barataria Bay and perform some Dive Monitoring in FH-13. We initially deployed a Carpet FAD on Culverts 110303A. Then a dive was made on the Barataria Bay where some 360Fly video was taken along with some GoPro video. Unfortunately the visibility was quite poor so after this inspection we went south out to MP186 and MP175 in search of better water conditions. On board was Chad Broadus of Mobile AL, Omar Vasquez of Ocean Springs MS, Andrew Whitman of Ocean Springs MS, and Joseph Keshishian of Long Beach MS. Andrew & Joseph were shooting for the TV show Gulf South Outdoors. Omar & Chad made a dive on MP186 where Omar boated a nice 65 pound Amberjack and Chad got a smaller one. The next stop was MP175 where Omar and I made a dive. I took down the 360Fly and GoPro again while Omar shot a Grouper. Unfortunately the 360Fly seems to have flooded and malfunctioned (2nd time) after getting back. It seemed to work fine while in use during the day but we will have to wait for 360Fly support to try and retrieve the video files. Time was up so we headed on North, but it was a fun day that encompassed 137 miles, 12.5 hours, and 83 gallons of fuel.
