This was a Memorial Day trip booked by Austin Powell of Ocean Springs, MS. He brought a bunch of Freedivers, Colton Goff of St. Charles, LA, Charlie Slattery of St. Petersburg, FL, Chelsey Kahlich of Treasure Island, FL, and my own son Paul Miller from Venice, LA. My son Paul picked the area of Louisiana Oil Rigs to go after some Red and Mangrove Snapper with maybe some Amberjack Bonus. We ran 41 nautical miles southwest of Horn Island and dove several groupings of Oil Rigs there. It was a true experience for an old Scuba Diver like me to watch these young guys and gal glide thru the waters effortlessly popping fish all around. A very fun trip that encompassed 132 miles, 71 gallons of fuel, and 9 hours. These guys had a long drive to get home and start the work week the next day.
