This was initially a trip to do some MGFB work in FH-7 but upon arrival the water conditions were poor with bad visibility and strong currents. So we went further southeast to the cutoff rigs. On board was Bob Brown, Michael Mann, Skip Roberts, and my son Luke Miller (17). Bob made a dive on the cutoffs and then we went further southwest to the Salt Dome area diving on MP289C and MP289B. They bagged some Amberjack, Scamps, Mangroves, and Almaco Jacks while I took video and pictures. There were some small sharks prowlling near the boat's chum slick and a massive congregation of Barracudas on MP289B. The water was finally starting to get warm. It averaged around 75 degrees and was as warm as 77 degrees. I dove a shorty on the first two dives and just my shorts on the third dive. It was a fun day that encompassed 182 miles, 14 hours, and 108.5 gallons of fuel.
