This was a reef monitoring dive to FH-13 for MGFB. Since the primofish.com was in the shop, we took Bob Brown's 22' Twin Vee with a pair of 115 Suzuki's. Water temp was 56°F and the visbility was poor and green so we started at the Mike Jenner Tug since it is the Tallest structure in the site. Unfortunately even the top of the wheelhouse had only about 10 feet of visibility. Fish Observations were also poor, yielding a school of Spadefish (75-100) that stayed close to and inside the wheelhouse instead of up in the midwater. The only other fish observed were a few Sheepshead (3/3-6lbs), a couple Scamp Grouper (2/1-2lbs), and a couple Red Snapper (2/2-20 lbs) that had to be baited in. The tropical fish sighted on the January 12 visit were absent although the Sea Cucumber and urchins were still present. There was significant fishing line entangled throughout the reef so fishing pressure may be a factor as well as the cold temperatures.
