This was a Charter by Omar Vasquez of Ocean Springs who brought with him, Jerin Collins of Ocean Springs, and J Paulo Monteverde (JP) from Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brasil. My son Ben worked the Deck. Ben and I could not do any diving due to his Shoulder Surgery and my badly cut finger from last Saturday. Conditions were nice but a little bit choppier than expected so we stayed reltively closer. We started at the Capt Joe and then worked a few bottom spots on the way to Platform VK251. At VK251 Omar reported seeing a school of four white Mantas. From there we went west to VK202 for some Diving before heading in. VK202 is on the Idle Iron removal list which is a shame as it has a great deal of life on it. We had no trouble limiting out on Red Snapper but other fish species eluded us. We caught one Cobia that was an inch or two shy and was released. It was a great fun day out on the water that encompassed 124 miles, 13 hours, andd 70 gallons of fuel.
