This was a trip by Omar Vasquez of Biloxi. He brought along Dan & Tim Frisby (Brothers) and Dan's son Khoa Pham(16).
My boys Paul(17) and Luke(15) worked the Deck. The weather was not looking too good and showers pushed us to head east
to try and get around them. We started at the Blue Wing where we hooked up some nice Red Snapper.
We then went to the Captain Joe wreck where we got more and then we made a dive where I lost the first grouper
and Omar bagged the second. This was the first trip with my new Black Rhino RX5 Speargun appropriately named
Black Betty - Bam Balam (thanks to Dan's suggestion). It came with a Kill Spike Bayonet which accepts a Light Kit.
Of course I also put a GoPro mount on the back end. I made the next dive on the Charles Bosarge Hopper Barge and bagged
another Grouper there. We then visited the Fox Tug which was an exquisite dive thanks to the unusually great
visibility. Finally we made a dive on the V-Rig Air Force Tower located a couple miles away. Heading in, we stopped at the
Tortugas Wreck but did not catch anything there. While it could have been calmer with less showers, it was a
fun filled day than encompassed 90.6 nautical miles, 13.2 hours, and 64 gallons of fuel.
