My 3 Sons Scuba Diving Alabama Reefs - July 23, 2011© Photos Posted by Mark Miller © Hi-Res Source
This started as a one man Dive Charter by Edward Wallace from USM. Since it was one guy, I offered to take him with my Boys and I to hunt some spots to the East in Alabama. We waited for this no-show for about 45 minutes and then headed on out on our own. We started out at some of the Tensaw River Bridge Reefs which we had never been to before. The first one was not marking much so we diverted to the Edwards Liberty Ship. A Squall came up blowing over 25 knots from the North with some heavy rains. We took turns Diving the Bridge Spans which came up to about 85 feet in the 115 feet of water. The Dives were pretty good showing some nice Red Snapper and Amberjack. The weather calmed down really nice and it was sunny and calm the rest of the day. We then went to the Dry Dock and an Army Tank as well as Rig VK-76A. All new spots to us, but surprisingly very nice Dives considering their public nature. It was a fun day out with my 3 Sons that encompassed 108 nautical miles, 14 hours, and about 65 gallons of fuel.
