This was a trip by Jeff Munson and his son Cody (15) from Dallas, Texas. My son Luke (14) worked the Deck and doubled as Dive Master. Jeff had been trying to make a Dive Trip with me for a couple years now and was finally able to make it happen. The weather started out looking like Rain, but it seemed to dissipate as we traveled leaving us with mostly an overcast day that kept it from getting too hot. Since we had a good experience July 23 going East, we decided to do it again for this trip. We made our first Dive on the Dunlop Dry Dock, followed by 2 Dives on 2 different Tensaw Bridge Spans, and finally a Dive on Oil Rig VK76A. Cody got to shoot his first fish with a Spear Gun (an AJ) and Jeff said the Bridge Spans were the best Dives of his life. They weren't expecting to fish, but why not pull a few Red Snapper in during your surface interval. We all had a Grand Day out in the Gulf of Mexico that encompassed 99.7 miles, 12 hours, and about 60 gallons of fuel.
