This large Shrimp Boat was deployed in the southeast end of FH-13. This Vessel was stranded on the beach in Biloxi and nobody came forward to claim her. The DMR posted a public ad in the paper and when nobody came forward, they used the Mississippi Derelect Vessel program to retrieve her, clean her up, and deploy her on the bottom in FH-13. I originally had a Charter Booking for this day with Raymond and Richard Ulland, but since it was time for an MGFB meeting, I asked them to move their trip to Friday. I got a call for this trip at about 6PM the night before, so I called my Charter Crew and told them that as a bonus, they could ride along for this deployment and possibly catch some fish afterward. Sounded good to them so along they came. As the Vessel began to sink, the Starboard Boom came loose and swung around toward the bow. Unfortunately, this caused the Vessel to plunge down hard into the bottom on her port bow and roll onto her port side. We decided to go ahead and dive the Vessel to assess the orientation and obtain some first time Video. Raymond is a diver too, so he, Paul, and myself became the first Divers to ever visit this new reef. The visit revealed the orientation as the side imaging showed. The water clearance was measured at 51 feet and we determined you could still penetrate the wreck thru the Starboard wheelhouse door. Afterward we briefly fished a few spots and brought home 3 red snapper. This was a warm up for their paid fishing charter the next day.
