This was a trip by Roy Simmons of Brady, Texas. He brought along Mark Willcutt, James M. Brown, and Joe Dennis, all from Fulton, Mississippi. My son Paul worked the Deck. We started at the South end of FH-13. Our attempts to get some live hard tail were frutile and the wind and current was hampering our efforts. That was coupled with heavy pressure by fellow fishermen hovering every large structure in the site and made it tough for us to be productive. We persisted and we did catch quite a few fish, but just not a great deal of take home. We did get one nice 10 pound Red Snapper, a Red Fish, several Grouper that were just too short, and a nice mess of White Trout. The unusal catches of the day were caught by Joe - a large Oyster Dog and a white spotted Soapfish. Joe was using the bait rig which did not produce much live bait, but did manage to land 3 groupers in one drop, although they were all too short. We also had several big pulls that never made it to the boat. All in all it was a fun day in the sun. Total trip encompassed 69.3 miles, 11 hours, and 43.2 Gallons of fuel ($116).
