It was July 4th and nobdy is calling for a Charter (hint hint) so my family and I (Pam, Ben, Paul, and Luke) headed out on a scout trip along with Alec Newton and Gage Miles. We started on a lightering ship and picked up a keeper Cobia. Then we fished around FH-2 and FH-13 picking up some snapper. We got drawn to a shrimp boat to the east to try for cobia, but it was dry. We then hit some rigs toward the east and worked over to the Blue Wing and Mississippi. We did not find the Mississippi and suspect Katrina finished her off. Pam caught a nice grouper, but she made me take those pictures off. It was a fun day and the boys got to do their favorite past time of Rig Jumping (Click the last Image). Total Trip encompassed 79 miles and 45 gallons ($182) of fuel.
