This was Luke's 5th Gymnastics meet for 2008 (his 2nd year of competition). It was the Alabama-Mississippi Jointly held State Championships hosted by Champion Gymnastics in Attalla, Alabama (an hour northeast of Birmingham). His Coach, Jon Zugg did an amazing job with Luke and his team mates, Andrew Chu, Preston Duke, Paul Lewis, Alex Chu, and Michael Couy. Luke came in first All-Around with 5 Golds, 1 Silver, and 1 Bronze. Alex and Michael also finished 1st All-Around in their Levels. Andrew and Paul came in 2nd All-Around, and Preston finished 5th. Luke's breakdown of scores was 9.15-1st Pommel Horse, 9.0-1st Rings, 9.35-1st Parallel Bars, 9.45-1st Vault, 8.2-3rd High Bar, 8.2-2nd Floor, for an All-Around First Place Score of 54.35. His team mates Paul, Andrew, and Preston had All-Around scores of 54.65, 52.55, and 45.55 respectively, which was good enough for a 2nd Place Team Trophy!
