This was Luke's 4th Gymnastics meet for 2008 (his 2nd year of competition). It was the 25th Annual Peachtree Classic held at the Tucker Recreation Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Visiting and cheering Luke was his Aunt Penny and his cousins Brian and Aidan O'Sullivan. Luke's Coach, Jon Zugg did a great job with Luke and his team mates, Andrew Chu, Preston Duke, and Paul Lewis. Luke's Scores were as follows: 8.8-5th PBars, 8.2-HBar, 9.3-2nd Floor, 8.6-4th Pommel Horse, 8.6-5th Rings, 8.8-Vault, for an All-Around 5th Place Score of 52.3. There was a routine issue with Luke's Pommel Horse. Although his routine looked flawless (as it did at his last meet), this Judge made a huge deduction because Luke did a False Sicssor Leg Cut/False Sicssor Leg Cut/Sicssor instead of a False Sicssor Leg Cut/False Sicssor/Sicssor. It's all Greek to me and dissappointing to see his awesome routine fall behind others that actually fell during their routines. Regardless, we were proud of Luke's performance and Luke learned something he was doing wrong so he could correct it for his next meets. Andrew and Preston's All-Around scores were 50.45 and 45.5 respectively. Following their competition, Coach Jon and Mike competed in Level 8 and Level Elite competition. Also Olympic Hopeful Justin Laury put on some exhibition on the High Bar. See the video clips below. Following the meet, we visited the Animal Safari.
