This was Luke's 3rd Gymnastics meet for 2008 (his 2nd year of competition). It was the 3rd annual New Orleans Jazz Invitational held at Tulane University and hosted by Empire Gymnastics Academy. His Coach, Jon Zugg did an amazing job with Luke and his team mates, Andrew Chu, Preston Duke, and Paul Lewis. Luke came in first All-Around and scored an amazing 9.9 on the Pommel Horse. Andrew came in 5th All-Around and scored an amazing 9.8 on the Rings. Luke's breakdown of scores was 9.9-1st Pommel Horse, 9.2-5th Rings, 9.1-2nd Parallel Bars, 9.0-3rd Vault, 9.0-2nd High Bar, 8.85-2nd Floor, for an All-Around First Place Score of 55.05. His team mates Paul, Andrew, and Preston had All-Around scores of 54.4, 52.8, and 44.8 respectively, which was good enough for a 6th Place Team Trophy! After the event, several of us were treated by Luke's Aunt Paula and Lucy to a New Orleans Hornet's BasketBall Game with the Houston Rockets losing 100 to 80. It was a fun filled day.
