This was the 2007 Men's State Championship Gymnastic Meet in Flowood, Mississippi, just outside of Jackson. It was a combined meet for both Mississippi and Alabama. Since Luke attends Planet Gymnastics in Mobile, Alabama, he competed in the Alabama Meet. He did very well in his Level 4 Division of 8-9 Year-Olds taking 3rd Place in Rings and Vault, and 1st Place in everything else. His scores were 9.10 Rings 3rd Place, 9.40 Vault 3rd Place, 9.20 PBars 1st Place, 9.00 HBar 1st Place, 9.30 Floor 1st Place, 9.30 Pommel 1st Place, for an whopping All-Around Score of 55.30. His teamates Preston Duke and Nicholas Dow competed in the same rotation and also won All-Around First Place for their divisions! This really says alot about their Coach John Zug. Luke had a great deal of support from Family and Friends. Attending was his Aunt Paula and Lucy, his Friends the Tirman's (Keri, Vicki, Chase, and Cory), his Friends Don Barnett and Gina, and one of his Teachers, Mrs. Hillman.
