Luke started taking Gymnastics almost a year ago. He has taken to it very well and goes 2 days a week to Planet Gymnastics in Mobile, AL. These are pictures of his very first meet, the Cobb Men's Challenge, which was held in Metarie, GA. Going to support him was his family, Mark, Pam, Ben, and Paul, and his Aunts Paula, Lucy, Pandy, and Penny, along with his cousins Brian and Aidan. Luke's Coach is Jon Zugg and he did a tremendous job. Luke did well, taking second place overall in his division (level 4, ages 8-9) competing with 11 other boys. He placed first on the Pommel Horse with a 9.2, Second Place on the High Bar with a 9.2, Second Place on the Floor with an 8.7, Third Place on the Vault with a 9.0, Fifth Place on the Rings with an 8.6, and Fifth Place on the Parallel Bars with an 8.3. Unfortunately, he touched the matt on his P-Bars dismount and it really cost him, but whose complaining with a 53 overall good enough for Second Place! He competed along side with Preston Duke who is level 4, but in the 6-7 year old age group, so they weren't competing with each other. Preston scored 47.2 overall for Ninth Place. His best placement was on the Floor with an 8.7 for Fourth Place. Click Here for Session 1 Scores. Three other team mates, Nicholas Dow, Todd Moore and Michael Couey competed through the weekend in different sessions. Mikey did well too placing Second overall in his division. He placed First in High Bar and Second in P-Bars, Vault, and Pommel! Click Here for Session 3 Scores.
