The crew consisted of Joy Prisco, her Father Joe, and her son Stephen.
The forcast was calling for 5-10 knot winds and 1-2 foot seas so we were expecting a nice calm sunny trip, but we got shocked by 24 knot gusts and choppy 3-6 foot seas. The wind was coming from the west and it pushed us east to keep from getting too beat up. The big red snapper were just not biting. We caught plenty of 15 inchers, but unbelievably did not bring home the first keeper. We caught plenty of live bait and marked some nice fish on the sounder, but they just seemed to have lock jaw. We switched to fishing for Kings and Cobia, but they too were not cooperating. We had a couple good pulls from bonito behind some shrimp boats and the highlight was the Black Tip Shark you see below. Although he was not long, he was very thick and a brute to fight. He broke 2 steel leaders before we beefed it up and finally landed him. Although it was rough and we couldn't find the snapper, we had some good pulls on the line. The trip was certainly way below par for us. Total trip encompassed 93 miles and 12 hours.
