The crew consisted of Joy Prisco, her son Joey, and Joy's Father Joe. My son Ben and his friend Alec worked the deck. This was Joy's third trip during her 2 week vacation from New Jersey and once again we were plagued by high winds and choppy seas. We fought hard for what we caught and had trouble finding keeper sized red snapper this close in. The size limit was recently lowered for commercial fishermen and we caught and released plenty of their keepers. We hit several shrimp boats looking for cobia, but struck out there too. The highlights were a nice Hammerhead Shark, a nice Jack Crevalle, and a great trade of 3 fish hooks for some nice shrimp. The shrimpers said they had 4 large cobia at the boat that morning, but they broke their 100 pound line and they had no hooks left. I guess we hit the wrong boats in the morning! Anyway, there was plenty of action and I think plenty of fun too. The jaws shown below was from their July 7 trip. This trip encompassed 83 miles and 14 hours.
