The Oriskany Reef was deployed on the morning of May 17, 2006, at a water depth of 212 feet, approximately 22.5 nautical miles southeast of Pensacola Pass | MAP |. The depth reports on the flight deck ranged from 130-140 feet and reported minimum depths ranged from 61-71 feet. The vessel is 888 feet long, has a beam of 157 feet and took 37 minutes to sink. The cost of the project was $20 million and the site has been nicknamed "The Great Carrier Reef". Her reported coordinates are 30°02.6'N 87°00.4'W.
