Blast from the Past....Karl Ousterhout, from Kosciusko, MS, was a college room mate of mine back in the early 80's at Mississippi State University. I was in Electrical Engineering and Karl was in Mechanical Engineering. Karl went on to get his Doctorate from MIT and while there he also got his SCUBA certification. He had not been diving in several years and wanted to go again, so we did. We headed out to VK114 and had some decent water, but we also could not resist a little fishing on the way. We hit some schools of Spanish Mackeral near a lightering ship and also boated several Bonito around some shrimp boats. Unfortunately, no cobia or other good edible fish were landed, but we did barter for a cooler full of nice fresh shrimp - the best catch of the day! Total trip encompassed 83 miles and 9 hours.
