Kirk Loy had book a trip for 3 divers, but he was nowhere to be found when the day came. Since my Brother David had come in for the weekend, we decided to go out for a little fishing and diving. We caught several red snapper including about 4 keepers and then went to dive on a brand new wreck - The Linda Susan. This large River Tug was sunk on June 24 as an artificial reef in FH-13 in about 86 feet of water. The top of the wreck comes up to about 45 feet from the surface. The water was nice and clear and we could see the structure as soon as you put your eyes in the water. She's sitting upright and is going to make a spectacular diving and fishing haven. She is already sporting 2 nice Sows, but little other game fish. Schools of cigar minnows and juvenille red snapper have already setup residency. We then fished some shrimp boats and picked up a cobia as well as a couple Kings, Jacks, and Bonitos. Alot of nice pulling action. We then went over to Rig 69 for a little snorkeling and more scuba. We capped the trip with 30 minutes of beach combing on Horn Island. It was a fun day encompassing 75 miles and 11 hours.
