When Schulte Roofing came to give me a quote on repairing my roof following Hurricane Katrina, they expressed interest in taking a break from the roofs with a fishing trip, but they said fishing boats were in short supply. Of course, I told them that they need not look any further. The crew consisted of Zack Stinchfield of Abeline, Texas, Miles Winsor and Jeremy Alms of Hibbing, Minnesota, and David Tervonen of Chisolm, Mineesota. My middle son, Paul Miller was the Deck Hand. We started in FH-13 and caught several nice fish, but of course we wanted more size. We ran out to MP38 but it was already covered up and we could only drool as we watched a couple sows being boated. We then ran a little further and had some luck in FH-7. Miles boated a 21 pound Sow and we are sure we lost some others in the structure. Using a live hardtail, Zack hooked a really nice King on the Tiagra 16 (probably 50 pounds) that we had at boastside, but he managed to get loose before we could sink the gaff into him. Miles was manning the gaff and was accused of wanting to keep his "King Fisherman" title, but we will never know for sure. Jeremy caught the most sharks and David may have caught the most snapper, but we weren't really counting. Everyone had a really great time. Total trip encompassed 111 miles and 12.5 hours. P.S. If you need a roof, call Zack at 228-348-3001. These guys can do you a good job at a very competetive rate.
