The crew consisted of Rick Christian and his son Richard (16) from Olive Branch, Mississippi along with Russell Elkins and his son Cody (11) from Morganton, West Virginia. I went to Mississippi State University with these guys back in the early 80's. The day started out with lightning and rain, went to partly cloudy with a little bit of chop, and finally to sunny with slick seas late in the evening. Fishing was a little weak with the red snapper and grouper, but we caught alot of different species and did bag 2 sows around 16 pounds each. Action started early with bonitos at a shrimp boat, a nice trade for some shrimp, and a hefty 80-90 pound BlackTip Shark. We later boated some AJs, Red Snapper, Lane Snapper, Vermillion Snapper, White Snapper, and King Mackerel. I won't talk about the ones that got away. Unfortunately, the camera got left at the dock, but we did get a little video and I captured some frames off for this posting. Everybody had a great time and it was a long trip that encompassed 16 hours and 155 miles.
