Walter Andrews & Crew - April 21, 2003
The crew consisted of Walter Andrews (Columbia, MS), Sebe Dale (Columbia, MS), Willis Henderson (Petal, MS), Virgil Ishee (Hattiesburg, MS), and Hank Edwards (Lucedale, MS). It was opening day of red snapper season for 2003. Conditions were not ideal as we were greeted by Thunderstorms full of rain and lightning as we headed out. With intentions of heading to deep water, we opted to fish the closer structures instead of suffering the choppy ride. Legal sized Red Snapper were somewhat not cooperating, but red grouper seem to make up the difference (a new species in our area). There were also plenty of sharks to pull on the line and we saw 2 large sea turtles. The weather cleared and the trip turned out to be enjoyable despite the rough conditions. Plus nobody got sea sick! The total trip enscompassed 96 miles and 13 hours. Below are the pictures.
